Inside the Market

The Equity markets managed to hold out of the abyss for the time being last week as the major indexes bent, but didn’t break.  It actually was a rebound from the recent carnage in the Oil sector that managed to take the heat off of stocks.  With all the massive bearish sentiment that ruled since the beginning of the year, you can’t count out a potential near term bounce in stocks.  There are some serious shorts that could be squeezed and those that still think the action this year has been a short term correction.  Another major factor is that the downside in Crude had to subside at some point and there may be a relief trade there as well.

Longer term…wild and bumpy ride for stocks with downside still in the cards.  No major pulse in the Fixed Income arena.  Gold you say?....still sleeping.
